ANTIQUES HOUSEHOLD ITEMS
Shopping at flea markets?

I’m a big fan of flea markets. Thrift stores, yard sales, and antique shops.

I love to get things you don’t often see on others, and new household items that are completely bizarre and some tacky. I get it from my mother, haha.

What things do you like to look for?

=)
Do you donate to thrift stores/hand me downs?
Its easiest when you take the things in and replace them with new items. =)

I have a route type job so I can go to one every day If I want to. And just about every day…I do! We have several here in Phx, AZ. (Swap Marts) I like the one with more old used junk then the commercialized one with new stuff. I don’t get into “rooting” for clothes in boxes. I do my clothes shopping at the thrift stores where they are hung up on hangers. I love the unique items too that you don’t see everyday anywhere. Oil paintings are a great find because they are in my budget …..what I have been “into” lately. Silverware always dissappears in my house so I like get to buy a dozen or so at a time for .10ea. I am fortunate to have a husband that likes thrifts stores too. We have a blast together talking about all the weird and tacky stuff we see. It’s funny tho- how the quality of stuff changes with the area the store is in.. I usually buy my 6yr old daughter a few brand new outfits for the beginning of the school year, and then the rest of the year, I go to the “better neighborhood” thrift stores for her clothes so I don’t have to look t0oo hard for stains and rips and stuff. She is into Hanna Montana now, but I don’t want to afford “brand new” “hot” items are s0oo expensive especially something she is gonna grow out of. I just bought her a Hanna Montana shirt yesterday at a thrift store for $1.95 ! Isn’t that great? And “antique markets?” That would be another whole page for me to writs about! HAHA.
